R.I.P. Michael Jackson & Whitney Houston, The King & Queen of Pop.
Needless to say despite her troubles she left an incredible legacy. To all the videos and parodies of her troubles in light of her death, fuck you. Addiction isn’t funny.
I just watched the last scene of The Bodyguard and cried.
I then remembered that I had this tumblr.

Jennifer Hudson - I Will Always Love You (Whitney Houston tribute)
My final post of the night about the Grammys is, fittingly, going to be about this performance. It really was the moment of the night. Of course I’m thrilled for Adele but this was so heart-wrenching, so touching, and so powerful that it really took the cake. Jennifer Hudson did an amazing job singing a terribly difficult song- and the most wonderful part was that as hard as it is to dissociate that song from the way Whitney sang it, J-Hud still sang it her own way, which made it all the better.
Anyone who reads my blog regularly knows that I’ve always been a big Whitney fan- this isn’t a bandwagon thing for me. She really had a legendary voice and a charisma that took the music industry by storm for nearly twenty years. Her struggles were heartbreaking to watch unfold and made all the more terrible by the fact that they almost certainly led to her untimely death. I don’t mean to skirt over her inner demons and transgressions, of which there were many, but no one can deny that her talent, which was, and remains, larger than life, will live on forever.
Amazing tribute for an amazing talent.
